Movement: The verge fusee movement is a Early English design and was just overhauled and is running great. The balance wheel is made of steel and was very popular on English movement during the mid- 1800's. The back plate of the movement is not inscribed and  was made for the French Market. The movement No. 2539, runs the full length of the chain and keeps great time within a few minutes per day. With just a little adjustment of the regulator the timepiece will likely stay within 1-minute per 24-hour period.

Case: The movement comes in an Gold open face case that has NOT been tested for purity. The case has a hinged bezel and hinged movement that are clearly original to the movement. The back of the case has a wonderful enamel picture of a lady outside enjoying the prairie scene. She is holding a unusual colorful object with outlined gold guilted artwork and baby blue.

The watch is wound and set from the front and the movement swings out from the front. The case is decorated on the back with a beautiful enamel scene of great quality.. There are two very minor specks of repair to the dial at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions which are not noticeable with the naked eye and does not impact the scenery and value. The dial is of a gold  material and has NOT been tested for purity.

Dimensions & weight: The case dimensions are 46.37 (excluding the bow), 69.44 mm including the bow, dial is 38.5 mm and the weight is 74.7 g.
