This "Berthoud a' Paris" timepiece housed within a ornate silver and porcelain flower display were purchased together. I'm confident that the timepiece and ornate display case were created for each other since the dial diameter fits snugly into the front case. There are many reasons that make me believe that the Berthoud is authentic including: solid weight, the complexity of the design, the thickness of plates, the wheel underneath the mainspring and more attributes only a longtime buyer would know. The Berthoud movement is in very good condition and is working; however, without a broad circular motion of the balance wheel. The balance and major parts including: staff, hairspring, contrite, crown wheel , mainspring, are fine, it just requires some fine tuning by an expert...I believe the issue is related to the wheel underneath the mainspring barrel which is limiting the energy of the mainspring...Its something I need to discuss with my mentor, Daryoush. The complete piece has a weight of 282.6g. or 9.965oz. The Berthoud movement alone has a weight of 61.6g. and the movement No. 4000. VIEW YOUTUBE VIDEO(s) by copying and pasting the links AT:
